A plain-language guide · What is unknown about harm
A short list of effects is not the whole picture.

If an offer calls Selank gentle or free of unwanted effects, ask what has actually been measured. Missing information deserves a plain answer too.
The missing information is important
Evidence checked through September 30, 2026 did not include a large or long study that properly measured Selank’s safety.
The FDA says important information about harm from the Selank ingredient in people is missing.
An immune reaction is the body defending itself against something it treats as an invader.
The FDA warns about an immune reaction from clumps of Selank or unwanted bits mixed in with it. The warning does not specify whether it concerns nose drops, injections, or both.
The concern alone does not prove contamination in any particular product.
Ask about other medicines and personal circumstances
Because those groups were not studied, the maker’s Russian leaflet excludes pregnant or breastfeeding people and anyone under 18 from using Selank.
It also rules out use in people who react badly to the product.
These are the maker’s exclusions, rather than a complete FDA-reviewed list for a US medicine.
Lab and rat studies suggest Selank can change how other calming medicines act. How they affect each other in people has not been studied.
The maker says Selank can be combined with these medicines, but that claim conflicts with some lab findings.
Bring the full list of what you take to the clinician. Ask how the missing information affects the advice for you.
When the issue is urgent
Tongue swelling or trouble breathing can point to a severe allergic reaction that needs emergency help.
A severe allergic reaction needs emergency care at once: dial 911, or go straight to your nearest emergency room.
MedWatch is the FDA’s reporting service for problems with medical products, and patients can send reports themselves.
